Hong Kong was once called the Shopping paradise in the 1970-1980 as at that time Hong Kong was a free port, as part of the British Government policy to attract form more tourism and foreign exchange, at that time the rent are must lower than it is today, so the running cost was low. And Most of the electronics, clothes, watches and jewelry were one of the cheapest in Asian Countries.
In 1990 and onward, the real estate price shot up and hit record high every the other two years. Till 1997, and the cost of running shop was becoming higher and higher due to the increasing rent of the shops and the salary of the staff, Hong Ko g was losing it attractiveness on retail sales. And only limited goods are still classified: bargain Purchases”.
Now, I think these are still quite comparative cheaper than other Asian Countries.
This is only my personal preference for shopping guide and I do not aver any benefit in introduction to friend for their shopping.
