4711

In the 70’s Hong Kong people was started to get used to men’s accessory such as “Perfumes”, That was a resistance to say “perfumes “ as this seems to be the patented terms for Women. The word Cologne Water was used instead.
At the beginning of the 18th century, Italian expatriate Johann Maria Farina (1685–1766) created a new fragrance and named it Eau de Cologne ("water from Cologne"), after his new residence, Cologne. In the course of the 18th century, this fragrance became increasingly popular.
Aclamation of Farina about Mülhens, Frankfurter Nachrichtsblätter 20. September 1805In 1881, the grandson of Wilhelm Mülhens, Ferdinand Mülhens, was ordered by a court not to use the company name Farina ever again. He then chose his 1797-1811 house number, 4711, as a name for his brand and company.
4711 has a unique fragrance, light, refreshing, though not long lasting, best apply it onto your handkerchief. This is my favourite fragrance, the next is Old Spice!

This was sent by Marcus from Germany, a German Friend as I can not find any 4711 in Hong Kong.German Snob
